My name is Oksana Milanich, I am a contemporary artist from Ukraine.
Modern life is no longer just fast - it is relentlessly demanding. Spaces today are expected not only to impress, but to restore.
My artistic practice emerges from this exact condition of chronic emotional overload. I create paintings that function as visual points of release - works that allow the viewer to pause, exhale, and physical experience a reduction of internal tension. This is not decorative art; it is a sensory experience of softness, grounding, and psychological relief.
Collectors and viewers often describe a tangible shift: a feeling of warmth, quiet, and momentary freedom from pressure - something increasingly rare and deeply needed in contemporary living environments.
I returned to painting not from academic intention, but as a way to maintain psychological stability while living and working in Kharkiv, Ukraine, during ongoing instability. What began as a personal necessity has evolved into a broader dialogue with those experiencing fatigue, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion.
Alongside my artistic practice, I actively organize solo exhibitions in Kharkiv. Through these exhibitions, I aim to create spaces where people can reconnect with a sense of calm, hope, and beauty — especially in times of instability.
In 2025, I presented a series at the Florence Biennale where my work explored art not as reflection, but as a medium for emotional resilience and restoration, grounded in profound emotional depth and human sensitivity.
My piece “Hope” was included in the international project by Gallery 34 within the framework of the UN 2030 Agenda (SDG 3.4), reinforcing a key idea: today, mental well-being is not a private concern, but a global priority — and it requires a new visual language.
I believe my work aligns strongly with contemporary residential and hospitality spaces that prioritize well-being, emotional experience, and refined, meaningful aesthetics.
On February 27, 2023, I held my first solo exhibition, “Under the Wing of an Angel”, at Buzok Gallery in Kharkiv. Created during a time of war, the exhibition offered a space of emotional rest and gentle support — allowing visitors to pause, restore inner harmony, and reconnect with a sense of peace and future openness.
